Our Story
Welcome to Mestiza Arts, where creativity blooms and self-expression flourishes!
i'm a self taught artist and stay at home mama to two of my own artists. i love abstract art, linework, and collage. I enjoy using gouache, colored pencils + pens. my work is reflective of my own perspective, feelings, observations of society, humanity + nature. i favor art that has feeling and may be chaotic and passionate - basically, i'm a color outside the lines kind of artist. i want to inspire creativity, embracing your identity + using art as your voice. common themes in my art are: motherhood, depression, anxiety, adhd, burnout, relationships, nature + being a mestiza.
Mestiza Arts, formerly -The Pink Rose - is a reflection of Karissa's identity as a Mestiza.

What began as a creative outlet for a burnout mama has transformed into a vibrant sanctuary of art and inspiration. We are a collective of dreamers and doers, fueled by the desire to break free from the mundane and embrace the wild adventure of life.
Born in the same year as T. Swift and shaped by the colorful chaos of the 90s, we’ve learned that life is more than just the grind of a 9-5. We’ve faced our battles with anxiety, depression, and ADHD, but instead of letting these challenges define us, we’ve harnessed them as fuel for our creative fire. Each piece we create is a testament to our journey—a bold declaration of our true selves bursting forth from the shadows.
At Mestiza Arts, we offer a curated selection of vibrant stickers, stylish notebooks, and eye-catching art prints, all crafted with eco-friendly materials, and of course original art prints and designs. Our mission is to inspire you to personalize your space and celebrate every moment. We invite you to join us on this exhilarating ride of self-discovery and creativity. Let’s challenge the status quo together, one art piece at a time!
